Favorite Moments: Paris

Traveling-to-Paris-Favorite-Moments

I wish I could just close my eyes and go right back to the beginning of my trip!

Currently I’m having major withdrawals from Paris and Greece! I’m trying to scrape up any money I have left to see if there’s any way I can go back 😉

I have so much to share with you guys regarding the trip, travel posts, outfits posts, tips, etc. but today I just wanted to simply write about my favorite moments and parts in each place… Kinda an overview of my European adventures in quick little snippets.

Only words I can find to describe my trip are: Absolutely, without a doubt, the most amazing, spectacular, drop dead beautiful, awe-inspiring, breathtaking, incredible trip ever… take me back!

So we started off in Paris, and that’s what I’ll focus on for today’s post! Let me just say it was quite the adventure. To begin with, our luggage got lost…goodbye cute clothes I had planned to wear, goodbye bras and underwear, goodbye to all my shoes. But.. we made the best of it and nothing was going to hold us back on creating unforgettable memories. So here’s part 1 of a travel series I’ve created called Favorite Moments.

1. Experiencing France win the World Cup: OMG! Que locura! If my Miami people think that Bird Road right in front of La Caretta is crazy after the Miami Heat’s win for the NBA finals…. you’re wrong, that’s child’s play. The French celebrating the World Cup win blows our celebrations out of the water.

You guys, I have never seen anything like this. The streets were absolutely packed with people, people were laying on the roads as cars and motorcycles zoomed by, others were laying on car hoods, climbing on other people’s vehicles, crying, screaming, beeping, climbing traffic light poles, jumping into fountains and hiking up statues. Insane. I’ve never seen anything like it. (I have all the video footage on my IG Stories Travel Highlight! Go check it out!)  I’m not going to lie, I was quite terrified for people’s safety… especially the ones casually laying down in the middle of the busy roads… but seeing the pride they had for their team, their country, seeing the happiness this win brought them was beautiful. Having the chance to celebrate it with them was a once in a lifetime experience. I think my favorite part of all this World Cup madness was when I was trying to take a photo by the river and I had a few photo bombers join the shot… well maybe little more than a few….

2. Eiffel Tower at sundown: Talk about magic. The Eiffel Tower at sundown was my absolute favorite moment in Paris… particularly when I spotted couples dancing right in front of the famous tower. It made me feel that romantic tone Paris has always been known for. There really is no other word I can find to describe it, other than magic.

3. Eiffel Tower lighting up: So this has a little back story. Because of the World Cup celebrations, many streets, monuments, etc. were closed for our first two days. So the last day was the day to take advantage lol.

Around sundown we wanted to climb the Eiffel Tower, but we also wanted to make it to dinner reservations at a restaurant called Pink Mamma lol (food is pretty important too right?!). As we were getting ready to go up, we realized the time and decided, it would be better to come to the tower after dinner since Pink Mamma’s kitchen was closing in 45 mins. From one moment to the next, it got extremely hectic… Calling an Uber, running to the nearest street corner, making sure we were really willing to leave the Eiffel Tower for food lol… But as we make it to the street corner we look back at the tower and it’s completely lit up, sparkling and leaving the 4 of us in awe. We just started screaming “Look! Look! OMG how amazing! Blah Blah Blah!”  It made us stop in our tracks.

That’s the thing about Paris… there’s so much to do, so much to see that it can definitely make you feel overwhelmed at times, but through all that hectic-ness, this city  knows how to make you stop, look up and enjoy the moments it gives you. That moment was one of our favorites because of that simple fact. I’ll never forget how happy I felt seeing the tower all lit up with twinkling lights, how happy I felt to be next to my favorite people in the world, and how happy I felt to be in such a magical city.

P.S We never made it to Pink Mamma and I think it was for the best… because we ended up at a restaurant called Marcello’s and it was the BEST meal we had in Paris. It was a local’s spot, full of the most delicious/flavorful food, and it had the best ambiance. If you’re going to Paris you MUST go there!!!

4. Arc de Triomphe: Holy moly does this monument take your breath away. To be honest, before arriving in Paris, I wasn’t too interested in the Arc… that was until we were driving down Champs-Élysées for the first time and I saw it at the very end of the avenue. Coming from the airport, it was the first monument I layed my eyes on in this beautiful city and it left such an impression on me. It’s simply so gorgeous and detailed. I don’t know if others feel this way when they look at it, but it was definitely on of my favorite must see spots. Traveling-to-Paris-Favorite-MomentsTraveling-to-Paris-Favorite-Moments
