Drunk Elephant SkinCare: Is It Really Worth All The Hype?

Let’s talk skincare! I have to admit, when it comes to skincare, I have the hardest time finding products out on the market that I truly love. My skin is SUPER sensitive and trying new products always leaves me with breakouts! Finding the right products is always a mission. However with that said, I think I might have just found exactly the type of products I’ve been looking for!

I’ve been dying to try Drunk Elephant’s skincare products. So when they sent me a huge box of their skincare line, I knew it was time to put my fear of breakouts aside and try this highly recommended brand! I’ve only ever heard wonderful things about the brand… but like most people, I wondered, “Is it really worth all the hype?” Guys… I am actually OBSESSED!! And not just obsessed with one product, but all the ones I’ve tried!

I’ve been testing it out for a little over two weeks now and I have not broken out! I am shook! Knock on wood it stays that way! Honestly, the biggest thing I’ve wanted out of skincare products is to have my skin looking/feeling healthy, glowly, and alive! These products have nailed that! My skin actually feels more rejuvenated almost like it’s getting the exact treatment its been craving.

I promised you guys a full review, but to make it a little easier, I’m outlining the products below with a description of when, how, and why I use them, along with my thoughts on each! I’ve been getting a TON of requests to do this post, so if I don’t cover something that you have a question on, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below or reach out through IG! (:

A little background on my skin before we start though… 1. My skin typically starts off dry and ends up pretty oily as the day goes on! 2. I have very sensitive skin and I’m definitely prone to acne when trying products that have not been prescribed to me by my dermatologist.

The Products:

• B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum: This serum is SO refreshing! The description from Drunk Elephant on this product couldn’t have said it better… “It’s like a cool drink of water for your thirty skin.” Applying this extra hydration in the mornings leaves my complexion looking brighter and so much more illuminated! I literally feel like a new woman after applying a dose of this refreshing product!

• Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil: I’ve always stayed away from face oils because my skin tends to get SUPER oily as the day goes on. A makeup artist recently told me my skin is producing that extra oil throughout the day because it’s not getting the oil it needs within my skincare routine. That makes sense right?! So once I saw that they added a facial oil to the package, I was really excited! I have to be honest… I’m actually LOVING this! I use 2 drops and apply it to my face/neck on a daily basis before I do my makeup. It leaves my skin feeling moisturized without any greasy residue… aka it leaves you with healthy, glowing looking skin… #GOALS

• C-Firma Day Serum: A vitamin C- Serum that is packed with ingredients that help even-out your skin tone, tighten up your face and leave you looking brighter than ever. I apply about 2 drops of this evenly on my face in the mornings and follow up with Drunk Elephant’s Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Protection.

• Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Protection: Sunscreen is huge for me, especially now that I’ve switched out my foundation and it no longer has any protection! I’m always switching my sunscreen products depending on the type of coverage I feel I’ll need that day, but this one has absolutely made its way to the top of my favorites! What I like about this particular one is the fact that it is SPF 30 which makes it ideal for daily use! Best part… It doesn’t leave you looking like a grease ball!

• Protini Polypeptide Cream: The protein moisturizer I never knew I needed! I apply this every morning and night and it totally replenishes my dry skin! I feel like moisturizers can be tricky sometimes. There are a lot of creams out there that just feel really heavy on the face. This one is so light yet feels like it’s doing its job of strengthening your skin.

• Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser: I don’t know about you guys, but for me, there’s nothing better than washing your face after a longggg day! After I wash my face with my Cetaphil face wash, I go in again with this cleanser and absolutely love how clean and soft my skin feels. It leaves me confident that I’ve removed all traces of my makeup and residue from the day!

• T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial: When I unboxed my Drunk Elephant package on Instagram, this was the product that was most raved about in my DMs! This at-home mask is intended to exfoliate and help get rid of built up of dead skin cells. It’s supposed to smooth out the texture of your skin while helping minimize the look of fine lines, pores and wrinkles. They recommend using this once a week, so I’ve only used it twice now. So far I really like it, but I definitely need more time to figure out how much it’s helping my skin! After using it twice though, my skin definitely felt like it got the deep cleanse it so desperately needed. My first impression… loved the immediate after effect on my complexion.

I’m going to continue using these products and update you guys on how I’m liking them on IG stories, so make sure you follow along! But so far I have to give Drunk Elephant five stars! Not only do I feel like their products are actually great quality, but the fact that my skin hasn’t flared up, is HUGE for me! So is it worth the hype???… as of right now, HELL YES!
