Let’s talk about a subject that we all love…. food!!! Like if there wasn’t already enough reasons to love LA, their food is just as good as everything else. So today I’m sharing my top favorite eateries for all you awesome foodies out there. I totally got you covered… What’s the vibe of the restaurant? What do I wear?! Is it causal, fancy, am I outside, inside? What the heck do I order? What part of town is it in? Reservations or just show up?… I’m answering all your questions before you even ask! So whether you’re visiting the Los Angeles area or just moved to the city of dreams, here is my must follow food guide!

CATCH LA

Let’s start off with one of my TOP TOP favorite restaurant, Catch LA! On the corner of Melrose and San Vicente you’ll find this gem! With it’s rooftop view, electric atmosphere, and fresh food, this needs to be #1 on your places to dine while in Los Angeles.

Make Reservations?

YES!!! This is LA’s new hot spot so reservations are a must!

When to go?

I’ve been for both Sunday brunch and Dinner. Both great, but I would definitely recommend going for dinner.

What to order?

Mushroom Spaghetti: You NEED to get the Mushroom Spaghetti! Period! (Unless you’re allergic to Mushrooms obviously)- But honestly if I could eat plate after plate after plate of this delicious pasta I would!!!

Mahi Mahi Wanton Tacos: A burst of fresh flavors in your mouth! These tacos are tiny, but omg are they awesome!

Hit Me Cake: Chocolate is always the way to my heart! Not only is this sweet dessert the perfect  treat to end your night, but it’s totally snapchat worthy! They make a whole presentation out of this dessert. Before you eat it, they bring it out like a little tower and have you hit the center of the cake while they drizzle warm melted chocolate down the middle. I know, I know… my mouth is watering too!

What to wear?

Catch is definitely the place to rock your coolest outfits. Shop my Catch LA outfit picks:

THE SUNSET RESTAURANT

I love when a place has an amazing view AND amazing food! Located on the beautiful stretch of Zuma and Point Dume Beach in Malibu, The Sunset Restaurant is a must on this list. It’s the cutest beach bungalow overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with a yummy menu of seafood with a twist on classic Californian cuisine.

Make Reservations?

For lunch there’s no need. But if you’re going to catch the sunset, definitely make reservations. Also make sure to request a table by the window to witness one of the prettiest views.

When to go?

I recommend going for a late lunch or early dinner.

What to order?

Fish Tacos: Definitely the Fish Tacos! Grilled red snapper, julienned cabbage, fresh guacamole, tomato salsa, chipotle aioli, cumin-lime cream and it’s DELICIOUS! Was craving these for weeks after I had them for the first time.

Sweet Potato Fries: Honestly you can’t ever go wrong with sweet potato fries, especially here!

What to wear?

It’s a mix of vintage and seaside elegance, but you can definitely go casual! NOT flip-flops and bathing suit causal, but frayed denim jeans and a cute fresh top will do!  Shop my Sunset Restaurant outfit picks:

MALIBU FARM

Malibu Farm is a yummy cafe/restaurant located right on a pier overlooking the gorgeous open sea. Another place where the view is just as great as the food! Their delicious menu is all organic and brought in by local farmers. I can honestly say that everything I’ve tried here is amazing. Not only are you getting awesome food, but you’re also surrounded by the prettiest aesthetic. Talk about deco inspo!!!!

Make Reservations?

No need during the day however expect to wait a little bit. At night it does get packed so calling ahead will definitely help.

When to go?

I love heading over to Malibu Farm during the day to catch the beautiful view…and take pictures 😉 But I recently went for dinner and it was SO nice. The atmosphere changed from relaxed beachy vibes to a boho chic feel! Even spotted a few celebs!

What to order?

Cauliflower Crust “pizza”: Ahhh this is such a yummy starter! Who would have thought cauliflower pizza could taste so good?!

Malibu Blue Nachos: Another great appetizer. There’s a fiesta in your stomach with these!

Grass-Fed Beef Burger: Always recommend this burger to anyone who goes! It’s so tender and has a super yummy flavor. Definitely give this a try if you’re not a vegetarian.

What to wear?

During the day, it’s pretty casual, so anything light and fresh will do, but it’s also a gorgeous spot to take pictures so wearing something cute is totally worth it. At night there is a sleeker vibe, so wearing something chic is perfect for this location.  Shop my Malibu Farm Restaurant outfit picks:

YSABEL

Ahhh I love this place. A friend of mine made this recommendation to me and I’m so happy he did. Ysabel is is a trendy West Hollywood gem. With it’s fabulous ambience, architecture, food and decor, this is definitely a place to check out!

Make Reservations?

Most definitely make reservations! Try to make these well in advance.

When to go?

I went for dinner and loved it at night! It’s cool and comfortable enough to sit outside and enjoy the weather and their pretty twinkling string lights.

What to order?

Brussels Sprouts, Raisins, Mint, Kimchee Sauce:  Don’t think,  just get these! Even if you’re not a fan of brussels sprouts, I promise these are so delicious and in my opinion the best item on the menu.

Artisanal Bread, Normandy Butter : I’m pulling an Oprah here… I LOVE BREAD!…  If you want bread that’s going to melt in your mouth…. then here it is!

Butternut Squash Tortellini, Toasted Pecan, Kale, Brown Butter: I’m such a butternut squash lover so this pasta was totally up my ally!

What to wear?

It’s a trendy restaurant so dressing like a total cool girl is ideal. Just like Catch LA, this is the spot to wear that outfit you specifically packed for LA or the outfit you bought specifically for that night out!  Shop my Ysabel Restaurant outfit picks:

URTH CAFFE

I’m always raving about this cafe. No matter how many cafes I try I always end up back here. When I would visit LA in the past, this was my first stop… literally, I’d have the uber take me from the airport to Urth.

Make Reservations?

Nope!

When to go?

You can go literally at any time of the day, but this is definitely my morning spot.

What to order?

Spanish Latte:  So I’m a coffee girl! I don’t consider myself awake until I’ve had my coffee. And for those that know me, Cuban Coffee is my saving grace…but I never thought I’d find another coffee that I love just as much… well here it is.

Almond Croissant: The best almond croissants in town. The best in the world. The best pastry I’ll ever eat… And that’s saying a lot coming from my Latina background… you know all those pastellitos us Cuban’s eat… but sorry this is definitely the best I’ve ever had.

Wild Mushroom Pizza: If I ever go for lunch to Urth, this my go-to. I rarely have pizza, but this one is so delicious that I can’t help myself.

What to wear?

I usually go to the one located in Melrose, so I’ll dress casual, but trendy. But it all depends on which location you visit. Shop my Urth Caffe outfit picks:

THE VILLAGE

I came across this awesome spot totally by accident. I’m so surprised of how many great restaurants are located in Studio City! You’re bound to enjoy yourself here with it’s cool, energetic vibe and tasty food.

Make Reservations?

When I went I didn’t need any reservations, but I also did go on a week night. So if you plan on going during the weekend, I’d make some just in case.

When to go?

Lunch or dinner works!

What to order?

Brussels Sprouts:  The best brussels sprouts in LA… I wanted to order more after just one bite!

Mushroom Ravioli: Ahh this was delicious… If you haven’t been able to tell, I love mushrooms and will always gravitate towards getting something that has them. So maybe I’m biased… but then again I was with people that didn’t particularly love mushrooms and they LOVED this dish!

Aglio-Olio Pizza: garlic, sottocenere with black truffle flakes, mozzarella, fontina… heaven!!

What to wear?

The night I went, I was dressed pretty causal; a pair of cute distressed jeans and a fun little top and I fit in perfectly. Shop my The Village outfit picks:

AROMA

A yummy and chill spot to grab a great bite to eat. Once again located in Studio City, Aroma is great for enjoying delicious meals, fresh pastries, and hand crafted coffees or teas while sitting in their pretty garden patio. Its also a popular spot among some recognizable A- listers 😉

Via: Aroma

Make Reservations?

No reservations are needed. But there will most likely be a line out the door. It’s worth it though!

When to go?

Breakfast or Lunch

What to order?

Eggs and Veggie Sandwich:  I thought this sandwich was awesome. It has three scrambled eggs, imported feta cheese, spinach, mushrooms, & tomatoes grilled on focaccia + rosemary potatoes, but I changed it up a little. Opting out the feta cheese I got it with brie cheese and it was great!

Latte: I ordered a regular latte, but it was anything from ordinary. SO good!!!

Turkey Pesto Panino: This sandwich was ridiculously good!! I switched out the cheese once again for brie (I know I’m little obsessed) and it was perfect with the thin sliced turkey, fresh tomatoes and their hand made pesto sauce grilled on focaccia

What to wear?

Totally casual here. Your favorite denim skit or cutoff shorts will do! Shop my Aroma outfit picks:

SALT & STRAW

Dessert should be my middle name!!! On the corner of Studio City is where the yummiest ice cream spot is located! Once you try their ice cream, you’ll totally understand why the line is out the door every time you visit.

Make Reservations?

Walk right in and order!

When to go?

Late night snack… I know that’s terrible for your metabolism, but is there really any better time to have ice cream?

What to order?

Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough: Let’s just say, this totally hits the spot.

What to wear?

Casual. Casual. Casual. Did I mention dress casual. Shop my Salt & Straw outfit picks:
